National Conference – 2025 at Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy
The Department of Pharmaceutics, Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy, Gobichettipalayam – Othakuthirai, successfully organized a One-Day National Conference on “AI-Driven Alzheimer’s Disease Prediction and Rational Drug Design” on 2nd September 2025.The event was presided over by Secretary Thiru. K. C. Karuppannan, MLA, Former Minister of Environment, Government of Tamil Nadu, who delivered the Presidential Address and inspired the gathering with his powerful words. Chairman Mr. P. Venkatachalam delivered the Felicitation Address, appreciating the initiative and encouraging the participants. The conference was also graced by the presence of CEO Mr. Gowthaman, whose leadership and support contributed greatly to the success of the event. A Special Note was shared by Principal Dr. K. B. Ilango, highlighting the significance of Artificial Intelligence in modern drug research. The program commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Associate Professor K. Mounika. Our co-ordinator, Assistant Professor S. Gokulakrishnan, addressed the gathering with his thoughtful remarks and guided the scientific sessions. The Chief Guest, Dr. Balakumar Chandrasekaran, Professor, Philadelphia University, Jordan, delivered the Keynote Address, sharing deep insights into Alzheimer’s disease prediction and rational drug design. Faculty members and students from Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy and Nandha College of Pharmacy, along with participants from the Departments of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnology, Shree Venkateswara Hi-Tech Engineering College, actively took part and enriched the conference. The technical sessions featured expert talks and discussions on Alzheimer’s disease, the role of Artificial Intelligence, and emerging perspectives in rational drug design. More than 250 students participated and benefited from the sessions, gaining valuable knowledge and exposure to cutting-edge research. The day concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Assistant Professor Vijay Madhesh, acknowledging all dignitaries, participants, faculty, and students. The event came to a close with the National Anthem.
